Hell and Heaven

Just an update on my progress with MG Deathscythe Hell Custom EW. It's pretty much done and top coated. I am just waiting for the right hand unit to come because I broke the other one (accidentally cut the ball joint off the hand thinking it was part of the sprue, it was late at night and I was tired...). I would imagine that it would be a bit delayed due to the earthquake in Japan (God bless them and RIP to the many victims who loss family or their lives).

Duo and Heero.

Super Saiyan mode.

War vet, loss his right hand.

Playing with different angles.

This kit is on full decals and top coated.

Shiny.

"Yo so where's that hand?" Yeah, I should receive the spare one within two weeks.

"Talk to the wing, coz' I DON'T GIVE A CRAP!"

The God of Death is here, looking spiffier than ever.

Playing with flash settings, my camera isn't exactly the best.

Those white dots on the wings aren't visible in real life, I guess thats the flash reflecting off the paint.

Look at me I have one hand!

Check me out.

"How long will this photo shoot be? I gotta go to the toilet!"

"OMG!!!"

I'll review deathscythe hell when I receive the right hand and when his shoulder blades loosen enough for me to show the active cloak mode (theres decals on the other side of the wings which I want to show off).

Remember, pray for the people in Japan and hope for their safety especially in the future. Lets hope that that was the last earthquake.

The God of Death has Arrived!

Unboxing from Hobbywave
After the long and painful wait, I... Mako Samson, have finally received... MG Deathscythe Hell Custom EW!!! Yes!!! I bought this kit from Hobbywave for reasons being that... THE PRICE COULD NOT BE BEAT. I also bought some supplies along with it since the shipping is flat $12 regardless of weight and quantity of products. Anyways, here just photos I took un-boxing it. I will have the model completed by next week for sure. Til' then, enjoy the photos.

The box.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!! When I finish MG Deathscythe Hell Custom EW.

Future Project: 1/100 MG Deathscythe Hell EW Custom and some future plans

The box art is looking quite sexy.

Fly away Deathscythe Hell Custom, fly away!
Yeah you show him what you're made of...
Woah who's this good looking mech!
Is that you batman! Why, what big wings you have!

This is my next project. I've decided to stick only to the MG line model kits for reasons being that they're much more customizable and that I already have an MG. This kit should compliment my Wing Zero Custom well. Gundam Wing is just one of my most favorite out of all the Gundam Series, probably even my most favorite. The pilots are awesome and the gundams are unique looking (mostly the dramatized Endless Waltz versions). I cannot wait for this kit to arrive on my door. This time I came prepared with a Tamiya modeler's side cutter and a clear base. I used large nail clippers for my Wing Zero, which costed me a broken V-fin and shoulder part which I cemented if you couldn't tell. Anyways, yeah, definitely check out my blog often and maybe you'll catch my review of this kit.

 Future Projects after this:

Yep, it's been confirmed. MG Epyon in all it's devilish glory. It's apparently getting a Katoki treatment and by the looks of these blueprints, it's going to be a modified version of Wing Zero Custom which may be a possible foreshadowing of a 2.0 version for Wing Zero Custom. If the Altron Custom 2 comes before it, then I might have to make that my next project.

I LOVE GUNPLA!!!

1/100 MG Wing Zero Custom EW Pearl Gloss 2010 ver. Review

Cover art. Do not mistake for anything else. Nice black and white design. This kit was released somewhere around April 2010 with no promotions/announcements. It kind of just came out of nowhere.
The Wing Zero Custom itself in all its pearl gloss glory. I panel lined the body and the weapons. I decided to leave out the wings to keep the angelic effect that the pearl gloss finish gave.
Close up. It's my first MG gundam so it didn't turn out as sharp as I had planned.  The only thing I hated about this kit was panel lining. The glossy surface just makes it harder to keep the panel lines sharp and thin, besides that it's a great kit with awesome colors. The blue and red just pop and the pearl finish can be really nice depending on the light angle.

Different Pose, notice the extra stand O.o

I actually panel lined the wings. I messed up so bad, I learned something about this. NEVER MESS WITH NAIL POLISH REMOVER ON PLASTIC!!! You don't see it as much but the wing you see here is a bit "burnt" towards the first two panel lines where the lines appear smudgy (but they're not, just reflecting). It's not as shiny as it used to be...

I used flashed so it didn't come out too nice. Anyways, about the extra stand. That's for the MG Deathscythe Hell Custom EW that should arrive at my house early March (I pre-ordered).

I actually like this picture. It's bright and you can see the details.
Now what is a Wing Zero Custom without it's famous buster rifle? Some people have problems posing the buster rifle, but... Yeah I have trouble posing it in this position too so I tend to keep the twin buster rifles separate. It does look mighty awesome in this pose though. Oh and look! It's my Alienware m17x in the background! Looking sexy xD
The beam sabers that come with the kit. They're green sabers with a pearl finish on the hilt. Personally, I keep them inside the box. I mean twin buster rifles vs beam sabers... come on (no offense to the beam saber lovers).

Deliberation:

This kit is an awesome kit being that it's the freakin' Wing Zero Custom and that it is a limited edition pearl finish. The Wing Zero Custom is actually what brought me to the world of Gundam. The thing I loved about it the most were its wings. Those magnificent wings. I also thought the buster rifle was pretty sick, I still puke to this day whenever I think about it.

Pros:
Awesome wings
Cool Pearl finish
Blues and Reds are vibrant

Super awesomely epic buster rifle pose
Inner frame is nicely colored w/ gunmetal as well as the twin buster rifles
Comes with two beam sabers
Comes with clear base
Heero Yuy is the shiznit
He comes with the kit, two of him
Decals are nice, though I messed some up being my first MG

Cons:
Parts can be a bit more fragile than normal version due to injection
The mounted machine guns on his shoulders don't open up all the way especially with his "ears"
The panel lines can look a bit weird sometimes on it
Grip can get really loose with extended buster rifle posing
Face mask moves
First MG so I screwed up the stickers, sticking them EVERYWHERE.
And also being my first MG, I am not liking my panel lining too much.
And another newbie problem on my part, I messed up some dry decals.

The great thing about all of this? I learned everything I needed about making an MG and now I am patiently awaiting my pre-ordered MG Deathscythe Hell Custom EW which I should beast on since I've come prepared with my purchase of a tamiya modeler's side cutter as well as a clear base. I won't screw up this time with the decals and stickers, that's for sure. Until next time, hope you enjoyed my review!
